This was the first of Jason Vale's books I read and it's really brilliant - makes total sense, easy to follow and has great recipes. I bought the 14 days and keeping it simple books after this and they are fab too. Between them I've had a great range of juices to keep me inspired and happy to stick to the juice way of life for the past year. As promised I lost over 7lbs in the first week then by following the advice in the other books I've lost four stone and not once have I felt deprived or like I'm on a diet. When I'm away from my juicer on holiday is the only time I feel like I'm missing out now! Loads of friends and family have wanted to know what I was doing to look so good - they reckon it's taken 10 years off me which can't be bad. Several have tried this - some take to it and love it like I do, some like my husband find it messes with their toilet habits too much to want to continue and some can't get past the idea of juices for breakfast instead of cereal/toast etc so never actually try. I'd really say to anyone try it though - I'd tried lots of things and nothing really fitted with me until this because I was always bored by 'diets' and so went back to my normal ways. Juice tastes good, feels like it's doing you good and is easy to fit into your life so it's win win on every score. I don't think it's for absolutely everyone as it does seem to suit some people's digestive systems better than others but I will certainly be a juicer for life now so I just want to say a big thank you to Jason Vale for his books as they really are life-changing. My only quibble is simply about the marketing so not Jason Vale's fault but the publishers. I can't stand the celebrity aspect - I know a lot of people are in thrall to celebrity but I can't stand that nonsense and it actually put me off buying the book because it had Jordan quotes all over it. I'm interested in things that have merit on their own terms not because some fame addict says it's good and like sheep we're all supposed to follow. A sign of being 40 rather than 14 I know but we're part of the market too! For that reason alone 4 stars because in every other way it's great.
