Jason's SAD Smoothie on Titchmarsh
14 November 2011
Juice Master to the stars Jason Vale was on the Alan Titchmarsh Show on 9th November making Alan a smoothie to combat Seasonal Affective Disorder or S.A.D.
Alan was doing a feature on ways to combat SAD and Jason featured a slight adaptation of one of his recipes from The Funky Fresh Juice Book.
Alan asks Jason about the reported link between dark chocolate and blueberries being good for us. On the chocolate front Jason corrects Alan that only raw cocoa powder contains the nutrients that are actually good for us. Commercial chocolate, even commercial dark chocolate is nothing like the original cocoa bean in terms of nutritional value because it's been overprocessed. Jason discusses this very issue in his book The Easy Way To Stop Eating Chocolate.
After Jason made the Tahini Choco Beaney recipe (with added blueberries), Alan's response was "that tastes fabulous".
